Why We Charge Artwork Fees

We love creating great designs β€” but artwork setup takes real time, skill, and labor. Cleaning up files, recreating logos, correcting colors, fixing Canva exports, or converting images into printable formats is not free work, and these steps must be completed before your job can move to production.

Because over 90% of artwork we receive is not print-ready, artwork fees help cover:

β€’ Professional design time

β€’ File cleanup and reconstruction

β€’ Color correction and formatting

β€’ Preparing files so they print cleanly and accurately

Our goal is always to keep your project moving quickly and efficiently β€” these fees ensure we can do that.

Accepted File Types

To avoid fees and delays, please provide vector artwork whenever possible.

Preferred print formats:

.AI

.EPS

.PDF (vector)

Embroidery formats:

.DST

.EMB

About Canva, AI Art & Online Generators

Canva, AI artwork, screenshots, and online templates often look great on screen but fail in production because they are:

β€’ Low resolution

β€’ Flattened or pixelated

β€’ Missing outlined fonts

β€’ Not true vectors

β€’ Not in CMYK or Pantone modes

These files almost always require setup or reconstruction, which is why setup fees apply.

What to Check Before Approving Your Proof

Your approval means you have reviewed and accepted all details:

β€’ Spelling & grammar

β€’ Names, dates, and event details

β€’ Colors & shades

β€’ Artwork layout & satisfaction

β€’ Print placement (front, back, sleeve, etc.)

β€’ Size breakdowns & quantities

β€’ Contact information

Once approved, the job goes to production as-is.

Artwork Setup Fees

β€’ Setup starts at $25

β€’ Canva/online-designed artwork often requires setup

β€’ Recreating or cleaning up artwork may increase fees

β€’ Missing fonts, low-resolution images, and incorrect colors require additional time

β€’ Embroidery digitizing starts at $35 if no stitch file is provided

Editing & Revision Fees

Any edit that requires staff time will incur a fee. Minimum charges:

β€’ $5 β€” simple edits (dates, numbers, small text changes)

β€’ $10+ β€” handwritten notes, unclear instructions, retouching, and retyping

β€’ $50/hr β€” complex design work or redesigns

These fees help keep your project on schedule and ensure our production team is not delayed by repeated or unclear revisions.

To Ensure the Fastest Turnaround

β€’ Send vector files whenever possible

β€’ Type out text instead of sending photos of handwritten notes

β€’ Double-check your spelling and details before sending

β€’ Provide garment colors, quantities, and sizes upfront

β€’ Approve your proof quickly

We do not begin mockups, design, or proofing until payment or a PO is received.
